Jeremy Renner is celebrating his 52nd birthday with a message of gratitude to his medical care team. The actor continues to recuperate from the injuries sustained in the snowplow accident.
“Thank you to the legendary Medical ICU team for starting this journey,” Rainer wrote on a photo she shared on her Instagram story. The snapshot shows the actor in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical professionals.
The post late Friday night is the third update Renner has shared since his hospitalization. He had two surgeries for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after being crushed by a snow plow on New Year’s Day near his Nevada home. The Marvel star was clearing snow from a private driveway when the accident happened, his publicist previously told CNN.
Rainer also shared a brief video of supporters dancing to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” to wish him a happy birthday, and he thanked them for the “birthday love”.
Several other actors also sent their birthday wishes to Rainer. “Happy Birthday to one of the toughest people,” Chris Evans wrote on his Instagram story, along with a photo of Reiner. “Sending so much love your way.”
Washoe County Sheriff Darrin Balam said at a Tuesday news conference that Rainer’s snowcat, an engine-powered machine used to clear snow, began rolling while Rainer was not in the driver’s seat. Balaam states that he was injured while trying to get back into the machine. When Rainer was injured, his family members were with him.
Officers received a 911 call about the accident on New Year’s morning. The highway was closed due to severe winter. Due to bad weather, a helicopter was used to take Rainer to the hospital.
