Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson’s third NFL season ended with a 31-24 loss to the Giants on Sunday and questions about his contract as he turns to the off-season.
The 2020 first-round pick is capable of signing a long-term deal before his fourth season and indicated he is open to talks about an extension if the Vikings are willing to do the same.
“I mean, I’ll be where I want to be. If they want me here, I am here. It’s not something I can really control,” Jefferson said via ESPN.com’s Kevin Seifert.
It’s safe to assume that the Vikings want Jefferson for a long time. The question will be how the negotiations unfold now that Jefferson is eligible to sign a long-term deal after Jefferson has established himself as one of the best players in the league in his first three seasons. Will be in line.
