WWE’s use of John Cena to clear, shocking Charlotte Flair victory, more Friday takes
0 of 5
This week’s Friday night block of wrestling featured the final WWE and All Elite Wrestling shows of 2022, so both companies wanted to go out with a bang.
In AEW, Jade Cargill put the TBS Championship on the line against Kira Hogan and Orange Cassidy defended the All-Atlantic Championship against Trent Beretta. In the main event of Stampede, Strickland battled Wheeler Utah.
On SmackDown, Charlotte Flair made her shock return to WWE and won the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Ronda Rousey after her first title defense against Raquel Rodriguez. Solo Sequoia faced Sheamus in a match between the powerhouses.
In the end, John Cena teamed with Kevin Owens to face Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, which was Cena’s only match of 2022.
Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from Friday’s SmackDown and Rampage.
solo sequoia is the future
1 out of 5
Ever since Sequoia arrived in WWE, you could tell there was something special about this kid.
Coming from the Anoi family helped them gain a foothold in this business, but they have proven that they offer more than just their name.
He has been in better shape since his arrival on the main roster and the way WWE has portrayed his character is great as it leaves a lot of room to grow.
His match with Sheamus on Friday’s SmackDown was an entertaining and hard-fought match that showed he could hold his own against one of the company’s best powerhouses. If he can keep improving while putting in stellar performances, he’s going to have a title around his waist in no time.
One thing we haven’t seen much of from him is his ability to cut promos. He has talked more in NXT than he has on SmackDown, but this is the kind of thing WWE could work on when he plays the strong, silent type.
raquel rodriguez would be better off as a heel

Rodriguez had her shot at the SmackDown Women’s Championship this week in a match against Rousey, but despite her significant height advantage, she came up short.
Ever since he was called up from NXT, it seems like WWE doesn’t know what to do with him. She’s bigger and stronger than most of the roster, but she’s never been portrayed as the same dominant force she was on Tuesday.
While she is a good babyface, she has a lot more potential for success as a heel. Being the massive force that bullies everyone else on the roster would make it so easy to hate him.
This would be a great place to turn during the Women’s Royal Rumble on January 28. She will find an easy way out to become the villain in 2023 to eliminate all her fan favourites.
Her match against Rousey was one of her longest to date, and it showed just how far she’s come since joining the company. She clearly has a lot of potential, but once she understands how her character should be defined, she’ll be better positioned for success.
Putting the title on Charlotte right away was shocking in a good way

Charlotte made a surprise return to WWE this week to not only face Rousey, but also win the SmackDown Women’s Title in her debut match.
The crowd was fully behind The Queen as she challenged and quickly defeated an already exhausted Rousey after her match against Rodriguez. It may not have been what we were expecting, but it was definitely the right decision for a few reasons.
Many assumed she would not return until the Royal Rumble, so her return on the final SmackDown of 2022 gave the show another memorable moment. On top of that, winning the title in an unannounced match would have people talking for days.
Charlotte has been gone for seven months, so she’s going to make for some interesting television as she ends the year and returns as the new champion in 2023.
john cena is a great part time charmer

Following his bout on this week’s SmackDown, Cena has officially wrestled one match every single year for the past 20 years, but his appearances have become more and more limited in recent years.
Her star is on the rise in Hollywood after the success of suicide squad And peacemaker, So it’s understandable that he wouldn’t want to put his body at risk like he has in the past.
This means that Cena is likely to perform one or two matches per year unless he decides to hang up his sneakers forever, which means WWE needs to be careful with who he is. Who has been booked for those few matches. ,
He had good work with Owens, Zayn and Reigns this week, but if he’s going to compete at WrestleMania next year, he needs a big-name opponent.
WWE could always go the celebrity route and pair him with someone like Logan Paul, but a rare appearance from Cena would be best used to have someone else who can capitalize on that momentum be there every week. Going to do.
Bobby Lashley is someone who would benefit greatly from defeating The Leader of the Nation, but that is only if Cena plans on being a part of the Mania as well. Till the time he is not confirmed for the event, all this can be pointless speculation.
swerve strickland is better as a heel
5 of 5
This week’s Rampage featured a main event match between Strickland and Utah, showing that Swarm turning heel was the right decision.
The former WWE Superstar has been a beloved babyface over the years, but he’s no stranger to being the bad guy. In fact, Hit Row began as a heel faction.
His mannerisms are perfect, especially during the interview. The pre-match video with Mark Henry allowed him to show that side of his personality quickly and effectively.
Best of all, he has been able to maintain his in-ring style while playing heel. Most guys who use an exciting arsenal of moves will tone down those spots after a heel turn to avoid getting cheers, but Swarv is good enough to do all of that and still generate boos. Could
When he and Keith Lee finally have their big showdown, it’s going to be epic.
